국립 서울과학기술대학교 인간중심 인공지능 연구실 (HAI Lab)의 이사빈 석사과정 연구원과 박민영 학석사연계과정 연구원이 2025년 1월 26일부터 2월 8일까지 약 2주간 캐나다 브리티시컬럼비아대학교(The University of British Columbia, UBC) 전기·컴퓨터공학부 산하 Human Communication Technologies(HCT) 연구실을 방문하여 연구를 수행했다.

이번 방문 연구에서 두 연구원은 AI 기반 교육 기술이 다양한 문화권에서 적용될 가능성과 직면한 도전 과제를 심층적으로 탐색했다. 특히, 학습자 중심의 교육 환경에서 AI가 가지는 역할과 효과를 분석하고, 이를 개선하기 위한 연구 방향을 논의했다.

HAI Lab은 앞으로도 국제 공동 연구를 통해 AI 기반 교육 기술의 혁신적인 활용 전략을 제시하고, 학습자 중심의 효과적인 교육 환경 조성을 위한 연구를 지속적으로 추진할 계획이다.

Sabin Lee (M.S. student) and Minyoung Park (B.S.-M.S. integrated student) from the Human-Centered AI Lab (HAI Lab) at Seoul National University of Science and Technology conducted visiting research at the Human Communication Technologies (HCT) Lab, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, The University of British Columbia (UBC), Canada, from January 26 to February 8, 2025.

During their visit, they explored the potential and challenges of applying AI-driven educational technologies across diverse cultural settings. Their research focused on analyzing AI’s role and impact in learner-centered education and discussing strategies for improvement.

Moving forward, HAI Lab aims to enhance international collaboration to advance AI-driven educational strategies and create more effective learner-centered environments.
